Sustainable expertise
One man, one vision, one passion
Renault, Vedecom, Vedecom Tec.
Le but ?
An engineer by training, Frédéric Mathis began his professional career within the Renault Group, where he developed extensive expertise in automotive engineering and transport technologies, including autonomous vehicle systems.
At Renault, he was involved in several research and development projects, particularly in the fields of electric vehicles and embedded technologies.
One of his notable contributions was his role in the development of innovative vehicles integrating driver-assistance systems and environmentally friendly technologies. His work helped position Renault as a pioneer in the field of electric and low-carbon vehicles.
He later joined Vedecom, the research and training institute dedicated to sustainable mobility and the automotive industry. Founded in 2014, the institute brings together industrial, academic, and governmental partners to foster innovation in transportation.
At Vedecom, as Vehicle Programs Director, Frédéric played a key role in the development of research projects related to autonomous vehicles and next-generation mobility technologies. He collaborated with experts from various fields on projects aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of transportation and improving road safety.
Frédéric has been at the forefront of autonomous vehicle research, contributing to pilot projects and technological demonstrations that highlighted the potential of these vehicles to revolutionize urban transportation. He also worked on initiatives aimed at integrating electric vehicles into existing infrastructures, exploring solutions to optimize their efficiency and large-scale adoption.
Building on these experiences, and after also leading Vedecom Tech, Frédéric Mathis founded MILLA Digital (ISFM) in 2017 and Milla Group in 2018 with the ambition of transforming the urban mobility landscape.
MILLA Digital develops the software environment that enables the deployment and expansion of autonomous vehicle services, including robotics, automation, and supervision platforms. The company also leverages its expertise in the field of Passenger Information and Operations Support Systems (SAEIV), an area in which the Group has strong ambitions.
Finally, MILLA Industries (Beta Epsilon), located in Le Mans and Buc (Yvelines), serves as the Group’s industrial arm for the design and manufacturing of MILLA autonomous shuttles.
